Fresh water is a precious commodity, and we have to do our part to preserve it and make it available and affordable to everyone.  Just how rare is Michigan's fresh water?  Over 69% of the world's fresh water is in glaciers. Another 30% is in aquifers. Some of earth's fresh water is in clouds, our bodies, and plants.  That leaves only about 3% in rivers and lakes.  And Michigan has 20% of that 3%. Keeping our waterways clean and accessible is an important goal.

Did you know that Michigan has 20% of Earth's fresh water?
